Elisity helps protect hospitals with “Health System Cyber Resilience through Chaos Engineering: Flattening the Curve of a Cyber Attack
SAN JOSE, Calif. November 13, 2024 --Elisity, the pioneer in identity-based microsegmentation, today announced its inclusion in a CSO award-winning project for the second consecutive year. This recognition highlights Main Line Health's proactive cybersecurity approach to protecting patient data and critical infrastructure.
Prompted by a surge in cyberattacks on healthcare, Main Line Health launched a proactive initiative to boost cyber resilience and ensure comprehensive protection across clinical care operations. Central to this effort are enterprise-wide two-hour downtime drills that simulate the transition from digital to analog care recordkeeping during a digital darkness event. This strategy addresses the dual challenges of ransomware attacks: financial impact and compromised patient safety.
The integration of Elisity’s rapid deployment and microsegmentation capabilities during Main Line’s limited downtime windows has significantly enhanced its network security posture. This ensures the seamless transition from paper to digital records post-downtime and enhances cyber resilience, minimizing potential financial and reputational impacts. The organization effectively safeguards its revenue cycle and upholds its reputation by maintaining the integrity of patient care and documentation during downtimes.
“Elisity’s role in this initiative showcases our commitment to providing advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect digital infrastructure and ensure operational resilience,” said James Winebrenner, CEO, Elisity. “By collaborating with leading vendors and adopting cutting-edge technologies, Main Line Health has set a benchmark for protecting patient safety and ensuring healthcare continuity. We are honored to be recognized for the second year in a row alongside the 2023 winners, GSK”
Main Line Health's integration with Armis and CrowdStrike through Elisity has enhanced its defense-in-depth strategy, providing granular control over the network and ensuring a swift and precise response to potential threats. This integration has also driven business development and realignment decisions based on medical device utilization patterns.
“The synergy between Armis, CrowdStrike, and Elisity has fortified defenses against targeted cyber threats, improving overall operational efficiency with added layers of security and visibility,” said Aaron Weismann, Chief Information Security Officer for Main Line Health. “This year's award specifically recognizes the System’s success in adopting broad-based and clinically focused innovative approaches to patient care continuity during a cyberattack.”

About Elisity
Elisity is a leap forward in network segmentation architecture and is leading the enterprise effort to achieve Zero Trust maturity, proactively prevent security risks, and reduce network complexity. Designed to be implemented in days, without downtime, upon implementation, the platform rapidly discovers every device on an enterprise network and correlates comprehensive device insights into the Elisity IdentityGraph™. This empowers teams with the context needed to automate classification and apply dynamic security policies to any device wherever and whenever it appears on the network. These granular, identity-based microsegmentation security policies are managed in the cloud and enforced using your existing network switching infrastructure in real-time, even on ephemeral IT/IoT/OT devices. Founded in 2019, Elisity has a global employee footprint and a growing number of customers in the Fortune 500.
